Founded in 2023, Equal Livelihoods is a dream to create equal space in the world for our transgender friends, a
section of community that is extremely vulnerable and has been marginalised for centuries.

Equal livelihood is the first step towards equal lives.

We hope to build an equal world where each of us is there for the other, always and at all

EDUCATION

The challenge: Sex Reassignment Surgeries allow transpersons to transform their physical
identities to the gender they choose. However, the formal protocol of registering all legal
documents under the new identity, prove to be big impediments in their education.

The challenge: Entrepreneurship requires financial aid, and the whole cycle of lack of
documents, and absence of security, make it virtually impossible for transpeople to avail of
loans and the like.

The challenge: Skill development in vocations that will facilitate entrepreneurship and ensure
a healthy, financially sound life are often inaccessible for the community. This is owing to a
lack of awareness, and financial constraints.

SUSTENANCE SUPPORT

The Challenge: For transwomen, daily sustenance itself is a challenge. Rent, food, clothing,
these are barely available as there is no sustainable future in the distant horizon.
